White Settlement ISD empowers all Brewer Bears to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow by providing engaging, hands-on instruction; the latest technology; and extra-curricular programs that meet the needs and interests of every student. Team members provide creative student learning opportunities through technology, project-based learning, classroom transformations and more!

Home of the Fightin’ Brewer Bears, WSISD offers a hometown, community atmosphere with all the benefits of city living. WSISD is a growing suburban school district that serves nearly 7,000 students who reside in the City of White Settlement and the western portion of the City of Fort Worth.

Conveniently located west of downtown Fort Worth and just minutes from Lockheed Martin and the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, WSISD is located in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. WSISD is just minutes from Fort Worth’s Cultural Arts District.

The district includes eight schools and has more than 1,000 employees.

New West Early Learners Academy for all pre-k and kindergarten students
Three elementary campuses that serve grades 1 through 5 (the North STEAM Academy, Liberty Elementary and Blue Haze Elementary);
Fine Arts Academy that serves grades 1 through 6
Intermediate school for all sixth graders
Middle school for grades 7 and 8
High school for grades 9 through 12)

The district recently passed a bond program that will enhance and increase capacity at every school.

History
The name of White Settlement was originally bestowed upon the community by the Native Americans. In the early 1840s ... when much of the territory was unsettled, the area became known as the “white settlement” because it was inhabited and settled by non-Native Americans, or “the whites.” Later, many of the Native Americans settled in the area, and it remains the name of the city that constitutes the eastern portion of White Settlement ISD. WSISD is now a community that prides itself on its cultural diversity.

Career & Technical Education

Dual Language Immersion Programs

WSISD's Dual Language programs enable both Spanish and English speakers in kindergarten through sixth grades to become fully bilingual by developing proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in both languages.

Dual Language students are eligible to participate in the advanced Spanish program at Brewer Middle School for early high school and college credits. These students are on a pathway to earn the Seal of Biliteracy Award upon graduation.

Dual Credit Academy

White Settlement ISD offers multiple college credit courses through dual credit partnerships, enabling students to graduate from high school with most of the credit courses needed to earn an associate degree. WSISD offers college-level Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high schoolers as well as honors courses for middle schoolers, giving them a head start in the advanced academic graduation program.

Early Learners Academy

Extracurricular Programs

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of award-winning athletic and fine arts programs including band and color guard, choir, cross country, dance, theater, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, tennis, track, volleyball, wrestling, powerlifting and more.

A variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) clubs are offered including Law Enforcement, FCCLA, FFA, Audio Video, and Animation. Students compete in the SkillsUSA competition, FCCLA and more.

Safety & Security

White Settlement ISD continuously implements new safety measures to enhance security. The district has its own police department with officers at every school as well as the Guardian Program in which educators are trained and evaluated to carry concealed firearms on school facilities.

WSISD partners with the Good Canine Academy to provide comfort dogs in our schools as well as dogs that search for gun powder residue. Click here for more details .

Technology

WSISD is a Dell EMC Model School District. WSISD's team of Dell EMC certified educators work with staff to integrate the best practices in technology application, enhancing student collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving that result in digital learners who are prepared for the 21st century.

Students in grades 7 through 12 have Dell laptops for use at school and home. In the classroom, grades 2-6 students use Dell laptops, and kindergarten and grade 1 students utilize iPads.

Grades 7-12 students can participate in the IT Bears program to learn technology basics and run a school-wide IT help desk where they complete computer fixes and provide tech support to students and teachers. IT Bears students can earn Dell's Tech Direct Certification.

As a Common Sense Education recognized district, WSISD leads the way with impactful, positive digital citizens.
