17 Arts, A/V and Communications students place in Top 10 at State Competition

For the first time in BHS history, a student won a Top of Texas designation at the Technology Student Association State Competition.

Seventeen Brewer High School students Arts, A/V and Communications students competed in the Technology Student Association State competition, and 14 placed in the top 10 of their categories. BHS students earned 19 first through fifth place awards.

Daniel Rodriguez earned a Top of Texas designation, awarded to only five projects from all categories and submissions, for his first place entry in Architecture-Interior (pictured). The competition included more than 3,700 individual projects this year). This is the first time in school history a BHS student received the award.

Rodriguez also received the following: first place, Nature-Astrophotography; second, People-Culture; second,  Advertising-Fashion (Color); third, Transportation-Aerospace; and ninth, Advertising-Food.

Alex Hathcock earned the following awards: first,Transportation-Automobile; second, Sports-Motor Sports; third, Architecture-Bridges; fourth, Video Editing-Original Short Film-3min max; fifth, Video Editing-Video Commercial-30sec Precisely; and seventh, Advertising-Product.

Zachary Matthews earned second in Transportation-Automobile and fifth in Architecture-Cityscapes.

Avangelise Perez placed first in Computer Generated Graphic Art-Original 3D Other Than Sci-Fi Image; third, Computer Generated Graphic Art-Cover Art; and ninth, Flyer-Single Sheet.

Branden Sanchez took third in Video Editing-Video Commercial 15 seconds precisely; eighth in Nature-Landscape (Color) and in Nature-Wildlife.

  • Parker Rogers-Gay, 10th, Event-Life Events
