33 High School students receive College Board National Recognition Program awards

The WSISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Frank Moilnar recognized 33 Brewer High School students who received awards through the College Board National Recognition Program. 

Awardees demonstrated academic success in 10th and 11th grades. Students qualified by scoring in the top 10 percent on the PSAT or PSAT 10 among the high school's test takers, the state's first-generation test takers, or the state's rural or small-town test takers or by earning a 3+ on two or more AP exams in the eighth, ninth and/or 10th grades.

They also earned a cumulative GPA of B+ or higher (at least 3.3 or 87 to 89 percent by the time of submission.

By opting into the Student Search Service, colleges can identify and contact National Recognition Program awardees directly. On average, students contacted by colleges through Student Search get 29 percent more offers for admission, are 25 more likely to go to college, and are 31 percent more likely to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years.
