Brewer band student selected for TMEA All-State Band

For the second consecutive year, Brewer High School sophomore Josue Rodriguez was selected to the 2026 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Band. Rodriguez earned fourth chair clarinet at the Area Competition to qualify for the All-State Band.

Selection to the Area Band is the highest honor a high school musician can achieve. Only 2 percent of 70,000 students who audition make a performing group for All-State; more than 1,000 clarinetists auditioned this year.

Rodriguez will attend the TMEA Convention in San Antonio in February and rehearse with world-renowned conductors, attend workshops and concerts, and perform with the Texas All-State Band.
