Lady Bears win Region 1 Championship, advance to State Semifinals

For the first time in school history, the Brewer High School Lady Bear Softball team won the Region 1 Championship, and the Lady Bears are headed to the State Semi-Finals! The girls defeated Wylie 11-7 in Game 3, after beating Wylie 8-4 in Game 1 and losing 1-3 in Game 2. 

The Lady Bears will play Hallsville High School at Athens High School for the 5A D2 State Semifinals starting Wednesday. 

Game 1: Wednesday, May 20, 7 p.m. (Home)

Game 2 & 3: Saturday, May 23, 1 p.m. (Visitor) & immediately following if necessary (Flip at plate)

Players are: Sam Aguirre, Ella Glover, Haylie Jimenez, Charisma Johnson, Lilly Meller, Keira Miller, McKenna Oltrogge, Sylver Orebaugh, Ava Pena, Gianna Pleitez, Kamren Pride, Mackenzie Smethers, Cozy Tyson, Jomarys Ferrer Reyes, Abry Urias, Avery Welch and Khloe Winn.

Head Coach is Josh Richards, and assistants are: Calvin Wright, Emily Berryhill and Michaela Castleberry.
