Record number of musicians selected for All-Region Bands

Brewer High School band members competed in the Region 30 Texas Music Educators Association All-Region Band auditions on Dec. 13, and a record number of students earned a place in the All-Region Band! Josue Rodriguez earned 4th Chair Symphonic Band for Clarinet, and he'll advance to Area.

All-Region Symphonic Band
Players selected were: Christiana Rodriguez, Flute, 8th Chair*; Sophia Williams, French Horn, 5th Chair; Ryan Willis, French Horn, 7th Chair; Jacob Portales, Trombone, 4th Chair*; Azul Navarro, Tenor Sax, 2nd Chair.*

*Denotes ninth graders selected for the top band.

All-Region Concert Band
Students selected were: Olivia Adkins, Clarinet, 10th Chair; Myles Pearce, Bassoon, 3rd Chair;  Casey Harrell, Trumpet, 1st Chair; Jonathan Obert, Tuba, 1st Chair; Cooper Waldron, Tuba, 5th Chair; Nicholas Gutierrez, Percussion, 7th Chair; Jacob Mohman, Alto Sax Alternate; Landon Waltrip, Tenor Sax Alternate; Rahston Herring, French Horn Alternate; and Matthias Williams, Tuba Alternate.

All-Region 9th Grade Band 
Musicians selected for the 9th Grade Band are: Sophia Julien, Flute, 12th Chair; Azalie Spann, Oboe, 3rd Chair; Edgar Casio, Bassoon, 2nd Chair; Jeremiah Gutierrez, Bass Clarinet, 2nd Chair; Anthony Mrha, Alto Sax, 5th Chair; Noah Bullard, Trumpet. 2nd Chair; William Obert, Trumpet, 12th Chair; Layla Stephens, French Horn, 3rd Chair; Noah Conger, French Horn, 5th Chair; Pablo Bautista, Euphonium, 6th Chair; Ryan Zarate, Percussion, 2nd Chair; and Phoebe Hays, Baritone Sax Alternate.

They’ll rehearse and perform in the All-Region Concert with students throughout the area on Jan. 16.
