Twenty Four Brewer High Students Advance to State SkillsUSA Competition

Thirty of the 24 Brewer High School students who competed in the District SkillsUSA Competition will advance to the State Competition in April. Twenty-four of the 30 Brewer High School students who competed in the District SkillsUSA Competition will advance to State in April. 

The following students earned Blue Ribbons for their Photography Projects: Kiersten Hart, Marcus Martinez, Mariah Minjarez, Samuel Montes, Madison Wilson, and Hugo Enriquez Rodriguez (who also won Best of Show in Portrait).

The AV Quiz Bowl Team of Braxdon Cannon, Scott Ellis, Donny Hale, Kiersten Hart, Marcus Martinez, Carson Morrill, Joel Seawright and Lainey Sitter (not pictured) won first place. 

Braxdon Cannon and Kiersten Hart won second in TV Production. 

Jacob Arch and Nathan Williams and Braxdon Cannon and Gillian Johannesen earned Blue Ribbons for their Video Projects. 

Elias Espinosa and Sandra Lemon placed fourth in Animation.

Isaac Valdez, Andres Rebolledo, Tyler Sarriera and Jacob Holland won Best of Show in Construction Group Project, and Miguel Montelongo, Jose Avila and Amanda Hurtado also won for their group project. Montelongo also earned a Blue Ribbon for his Individual Construction Project.

Students competed in 3D Animation, Photography, AV Quiz Bowl, Short Film, TV Production, Pin Design and Construction. 

Advisors were: Janet Bass, Jennifer Belisle, Melissa Galloway, Ernie Holland, Ben Ilarraza, Cathy Koke and John Woods.
