North Elementary second graders recently built a city, designed roads, and then used codes to command robots to follow the roads.
The students learned coding skills by using Dash Robots and Ozobots with an app. Teacher Lisa Williams purchased the robots with an innovative grant funded by the White Settlement ISD Education Foundation.
She said the grant enabled the kids had to work together, solve challenges and then agree on a common plan.
North Elementary was recently deemed a STEAM Academy for implementing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math in every class.
