WSISD to Recognize Sept. 9 through 13 as Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week - Hope Day is Sept. 11

City issues proclamation supporting WSISD's efforts during Suicide Prevention and Awareness WeekWSISD will recognize Sept. 9 through 13 as Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week.  Mayor Ron White and the White Settlement City Council issued a Proclamation in support of the efforts of WSISD and the WSISD HOPE Squads.
HOPE Squads spread messages of kindness and hope throughout the year, and they strive to educate their peers and the community regarding mental health and suicide prevention.

WSISD will celebrate Hope Day the second Wednesday of every month. Students, staff and the community are encouraged to wear yellow or teal and purple in support of suicide prevention and awareness on these days; the first is Sept. 11.
