To provide Brewer High School seniors and their families with a graduation venue that is conducive to the high summer temperatures and possibility of rain, WSISD officials made the decision today to partner with Globe Life Field (the new Texas Rangers Baseball Stadium in Arlington).
The ceremony will now be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Globe Life Field, 734 Stadium Drive in Arlington.
“We continued to search for an option that would enable our families to be together and watch their graduates receive their diplomas as they walk the stage on the field,” said Superintendent Frank Molinar.
“We apologize for the inconvenience that another date change may create for families, but this provides the absolute best [and last] scenario—given the current circumstances—for our seniors,” Molinar said.
Graduates will experience the new stadium before it even opens to the general public. The new stadium has a convertible roof and is air conditioned to ensure the health of attendees during the summer heat.
Graduating students and their families will receive additional logistical information, including the number of tickets that will be allowed, arrival times and parking, etc. through Skylert emails, the website, and social media in the near future. The ceremony will also belivestreamed for individuals who are unable to attend. A link will be posted on the day of the event.
WSISD will continue to adhere to the guidelines established by our local and state officials to provide the safest graduation experience for our students and families.
We realize you have many questions. Please be patient with us as we work out the details. We will provide additional information soon; we will not address specific questions at this time.
We appreciate your flexibility and continued support in providing our graduates with a ceremony that honors them for their achievements.
