WSISD 2021 Bond Election Update

Hello Brewer Bear Team,

I wanted to give you an update regarding WSISD’s 2021 Bond Election. First, thank you so much to everyone who took time to cast their votes and to all of the individuals who worked so tirelessly to support this bond proposal. We are still awaiting provisional and absentee votes, but here are the results that we have to date.

Proposition B, which will provide staff pay increases and additional mental health and counseling personnel, passed by 64 votes.

Proposition A, which would fund the new construction and renovations to accommodate enrollment growth due to new housing developments, did not pass by 13 votes.

Prop A 1,159 49.72%

            1,172 50.28%

            13 votes

Prop B 1,190 51.38%

            1,126 48.62%

            64 votes

We don’t consider this a loss; we consider it a postponement of our plan. We will bring Proposition A to our community again during a May 7, 2022 election. The growth is coming, and we will do all we can to continue to provide our children with quality facilities and an exceptional education plan for our future leaders.

I am so thankful for each of you. You are doing an amazing job and I am blessed to lead this Brewer Bear Team.

Go Bears!
