White Settlement ISD Athletic Director Scott Galloway was honored during the Bears’ Aug. 24 game for his recent induction into the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association’s (SWATA) Hall of Fame.
WSISD Athletic Director the past two years, Galloway served as Associate Athletic Director four years prior. He was previously DeSoto ISD Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Sports Medicine. He’s supported teams in 11 UIL state championships and 10 UIL state runner-ups.
Galloway helped author and implement HB 2038, which governs how Texas public schools manage concussions. An author and presenter for the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association athletic administrator’s certification course, Galloway is a national speaker on sickle cell trait and sudden death, GPS and athletic performance, concussion, and more.
Inducted into the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Honor, Galloway received the John Harvey Humanitarian Award, the James Dodson New Horizon Award, the Eddie Wojecki Award, and SWATA’s Bobby Gunn Unsung Hero Award.
Recipient of SWATA’s Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award, Galloway also earned the National Athletic Trainer’s Association’s (NATA) Athletic Training Service Award.
Currently the District 6 National Director and secretary-treasurer for the NATA executive council, Galloway previously served on the NATA Finance Committee, the NATA Compensation Task Force, and the NATA Diversity Equity Inclusion and Access Task Force.
