Liberty HOPE Squad Members Kick off 2019 with Hands of HOPE Notes for Students and Staff

Liberty HOPE Squad Members Kick off 2019 with Hands of HOPE Notes for Students and Staff
Liberty Elementary HOPE Squad members wrote Hands of Hope notes of encouragement and strength to help students and staff kick off their first day back on Wednesday, Jan. 9 and start a fresh new year! Students delivered their “hands” to recipients.

WSISD celebrates HOPE Day the first Wednesday of every month, and HOPE Squads at every school participate in a variety of activities to promote hope and educate students about suicide prevention.

HOPE Squads at every WSISD school consist of fourth through 12th graders–nominated by their peers––who are trained to watch for at-risk students, provide friendship, identify warning signs, and seek help from adults.
