WSISD is committed to providing an In Person Learning environment that enables our children to receive an exceptional educational experience in a healthy environment. WSISD will continue to implement protocols that prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff. While we strongly believe that face-to-face learning and connection is most beneficial for students, we will also offer a Virtual Learning option for families that do not yet feel comfortable with their child attending school in person.
While we are planning for these two different instructional environments, please know that adjustments may be necessary throughout the coming school year. It will be our commitment to keep our families informed of those changes and updates.
WSISD receives regular updates and guidance from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath and other local, state and federal agencies regarding response, prevention and mitigation efforts. This direction has changed repeatedly over the last several months and will continue to evolve based on COVID-19 conditions across the state and our local community.
WSISD has developed a WSISD Return to Learn Task Force that includes teachers and administrators at every school. This Task Force and the District Planning Committee will continue to provide input and recommendations throughout the school year.
