Community Driven Plan

To prepare for future enrollment growth in White Settlement ISD, WSISD established a Long Range Facilities Planning Committee comprised of 50-plus parents, students, grandparents, current and former educators, business owners, civic leaders, alumni, and taxpayers in the spring of 2021.

Over a three-month period, members toured WSISD schools and facilities and studied demographic reports, enrollment projections, district finances, tax impact scenarios, and facility and needs assessments of every school and facility.

With the help of a neutral facilitator, committee members worked together to develop a comprehensive $115 million bond package. The Long Range Facilities Planning Committee presented its recommendation to the WSISD Board of Trustees during a Special Meeting on May 27, 2021. The WSISD Board of Trustees voted on June 21, 2021 to call a $115 million Bond Election and Voter Approved Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) for Nov. 2, 2021.
The WSISD Long Range Facilities Planning Committee web page includes information about the committee process, handouts from each meeting that provide current and projected Demographic and Enrollment Information; School Finance Information; WSISD Facilities Assessments; District Recommendations; and more.
