To prepare for future enrollment growth and to ensure the sustainability and expansion of WSISD facilities and programs, White Settlement ISD developed a Long Range Facilities Planning Committee. The committee consisted of 50-plus parents and community and business representatives who reside in the district.

Over a three-month period, committee members discussed and evaluated information that highlighted student performance information, financial data, demographics, facility needs and more.

With the help of a neutral facilitator, committee members worked together to make decisions through an equitable process.  The ultimate outcome was the development of a $115,000,000 bond package recommendation that was presented to the WSISD Board of Trustees on May 24, 2021.

Committee Charge
The WSISD Long Range Facilities Planning Committee is charged by the Board of Trustees to:

• prioritize the needs of ALL WSISD students and make decisions that will enable all Brewer Bears to receive a premier education;
• represent the expectations and values of the community;
• use facts, data and financial resources to make informed decisions that will foster a culture of excellence in WSISD;
• rely on the Master Facilities Plan during collaboration and decision-making; and
• recommend a program that meets WSISD’s building capacity needs for the foreseeable future, extends the life of facilities where possible, and empowers all Brewer Bears to be the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
