The current USDA waiver for free meals expires at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. To be eligible for free or reduced-price meals for the 2022-2023 school year, families should complete an application starting July 27. Applications from last year will be valid through the end of September. New policies will be effective Oct. 1. Individuals who do not apply will start the 2022-23 school year as a paid student. Families who received a notification letter that the student is directly certified for free or reduced-price meals should not complete an application. Contact the Child Nutrition Office if any children in the household attending school are not listed in the letter.
Complete Free and Reduced Meal Applications
Families that are eligible for free and reduced lunch, should still apply for meal benefits through your Schoolcafe account. Families can create an account on the Brewer Bear Cafe website or request a paper application from the school’s front office or Child Nutrition Office, 817.367.1310.
