Summer Band Camps:
There are several band camps throughout Texas that specialize in working with young band students. At camp you will work with professional music teachers, play in a real band (with a real concert at the end of the week!), play games and participate in activities. Most of the camps are taught at University campuses.
Most of these camps have audition music and scales to place you in a band. Get the audition information for your camp as soon as possible! Here are a few websites to get you started:
Texas Christian University
Tuition cost for the Commuter-Only Two-Day Camp is $175.00 which includes tuition, lunch, dinner, evening social activity Friday Night, concert on Saturday evening, and camp t-shirt. In addition to a middle school camp, TCU also offers workshops and camps for various instruments: Flute Percussion, and Saxophone!
Tarleton State University
Cost: $260 for commuters; $349 for on-campus includes tuition, dorm, all meals, daily social activities, use of campus amenities, concert on Thursday, and camp t-shirt.
Stephen F. Austin State University
Cost: $175 for commuters; $435 for on-campus and meals
Baylor Band Camp
Cost: $395 for commuters; $560 for on-campus and meals
University of Houston
