Texas school immunization requirements are determined by the state legislature and set by the Texas Department of State Health Services, in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency.

Texas School & Child-Care Facility Immunization Requirements
Immunization Requirements for Students Entering 7th Grade per the Texas Department of State Health Services:
- Booster dose of Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis) – within last 5 years
- Meningococcal vaccine – one dose on or after the 11th birthday
In order for students to receive their 7th grade schedule at the beginning of the school year, a current immunization record is due to the school nurse before August 2023.
Due to Coronavirus some offices have limited hours for well visit appointments. Be sure and schedule your appointments now in order to get the required immunizations and submit the updated records before the deadline. Immunizations may be obtained by contacting one of these:
- Private Physician Offices
- Any Tarrant County Health Department, by appointment. 817-248-6066
Call to see if you qualify and to set up an appointment.
Please send a copy of the shot record to your school nurse once your child has received his/her immunizations.
